Bike Skills provides Learn to Ride and Rider Education training to bicycle users of all ages and abilities in Melbourne. Our mission is to equip the rider with the skills required to make their ride enjoyable, fun and safe.
We have experience teaching kids with ASD, DCD, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Anxiety and other developmental delay. All are welcomed and we adapt our services to suit the needs and abilities of our students.
Learn To Ride Program
This is designed for kids to ditch their training wheels. They will learn basic bike riding skills including how to mount and dismount, start and stop, brake, cornering both at speed and slowly, scanning, riding in a straight line and slow riding techniques amongst others
Adult Skills Development and Rider Education
The program runs for 4 hours and covers Basic Bike maintenance and set-up, skills exercises like braking, cornering, uphill and downhill riding, gear changing, riding in groups and riders’ etiquette as well as open road traffic riding.
Ride to Work and City Riding
This course provides the skills required for riders’ to confidently travel through the City. The training session focusses on high-traffic riding, tram tracks and potential hazards, performing hook turns, and specialised bike handling skills.

Our toddlers balanceability program aims at introducing children to bike riding from a very young age. Our sessions are designed to improve balance skills and strengthen gross and fine motor skills.
