BIKE EDUCATION SESSIONS - SPORTING SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The Importance of Bike Education: Riding Safely, Confidently, and Responsibly
Bike riding is an enjoyable and versatile activity loved by children of all ages. Whether as a hobby or a means of transport, cycling offers fun, fitness, and freedom. However, unlike other sports, cycling is typically practiced in public spaces such as bike paths, footpaths, or roads—areas that present unique challenges and potential hazards.
This is why bike education is so crucial. To ride confidently and safely, children must:
- Have a strong understanding of road rules and how to navigate shared spaces.
- Develop excellent bike handling skills to respond to unexpected situations.
- Learn to assess their environment and anticipate potential hazards.
